Meet Our Founders

Bill and Frank, the visionary founders of Guiding Light Academy, were not only successful business partners but also deeply committed community leaders. Having owned and operated several thriving businesses, they shared a passion for entrepreneurship and service. However, what they held closest to their hearts was the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with special needs.

In 2011, driven by this shared purpose, they established Guiding Light Education Center to support students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. Recognizing the growing and diverse needs within the community, they expanded their mission in 2014 by opening Guiding Light Academy. This program was designed to serve students with autism, intellectual disabilities, speech and language disorders, and other related challenges, providing a supportive and individualized learning environment.

Bill and Frank carefully assembled a team of dedicated, compassionate, and highly skilled professionals who shared their vision. This team became the cornerstone of the organization, laying a strong foundation that continues to support its success today. What began as a small program serving approximately seven students has grown significantly over the past 11 years. Today, Guiding Light Academy operates across two locations and proudly serves around 175 students from across the Chicagoland area.

Their leadership was marked by integrity, perseverance, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every child. Bill and Frank were deeply involved in shaping the culture of the school, ensuring that it remained a place where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Though they are no longer leading the organization, their legacy lives on through the continued growth and impact of Guiding Light Academy. Their daughters now carry forward their vision, honoring their commitment to excellence and community service. Through their leadership, the mission that Bill and Frank began continues to thrive, touching the lives of countless students and families each year.
